Evaluating the effectiveness of chemical and biological agent detection systems requires an accurate model of the concentration of agent in the battlespace. The time, equipment, and input data required to run computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models are often prohibitive, so analysts employ ensemble-average models, such as the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability (HPAC).
