An assessment of the regional fallout from the 2011 Libyan revolution and the demise of Muammar Qadhafi, with a focus on Mali, Chad and Niger. Three long-standing trends are identified as most affected by the Libyan revolution: the empowerment of militia groups, trafficking of armaments and ordnance, and spread of transnational refugee and migrant flows.
