This paper explores the role of Federal agencies other than NASA in creating a sustainable U.S. presence on the Moon. It identifies which Federal agencies could be involved, describes what the roles of those agencies might be, and determines if there will be a need for interagency coordination. The focus of the analysis was on a field station at the lunar South Pole and the role of the U.S. Government in promoting private sector commercial activity as well as science and exploration.
