Effectiveness of Disease Control Measures in Military Operations

This IDA Research Summary provides an overview and short example of IDA’s analysis of contagious biological outbreak response measures. This work is intended to support operational planning and execution of outbreak response measures by identifying the parameters that influence the effectiveness of outbreak control measures. It also describes the disease characteristics that most heavily influence requirements for implementation of those measures, as well as the challenges to meeting those requirements in various types of operations.
