IDA’s Korea Expert Published Again

Kim Jong-un is the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), commonly referred to as North Korea.IDA’s Katy Oh Hassig gives her knowledgeable perspective on the West’s relationship with North Korea – Havana Is Close; Pyongyang Is Far Away – in the April 9 Asia Times. In her article, she describes President Obama’s recent visit to Cuba as “a rapprochement between the American and Cuban people” and speculates whether such an engagement is possible with North Korea.
