IDA/DTRA Methodology in the News 

Susceptible, Exposed and Infected

A cross-divisional team of IDA researchers supported the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s Regional Contingency Team for Ebola, which assisted U.S. planning and response efforts for the recent West African Ebola Outbreak. A summary of their contributions was recently featured as a front-page article, “Modeling and Analysis Advance the Fight Against Ebola Outbreak in West Africa” in JSTO in the news, a DTRA newsletter. The work was organized as a quick-response effort under the DTRA-sponsored Operational Effects Analytical Support Program in SFRD and involved the interdivisional team led by Deena Disraelly of SFRD. Other participants included the following: from SFRD, John Bombardt, Sarah Butterworth, Jim Demyanovich, James Herrera, Margaret Katz, Sean Oxford, and Jeff Grotte; from JAWD, Meg Midyette; from STD, Allison King and Mike Finnin; from SED, Marcel Buford; from OED, Larysa Murray; and from CARD.

IDA Researchers Receive Purdue University Alumni Awards

IDA Research Receive Purdue University Alumni AwardsTwo IDA Researchers have been conferred the title of Outstanding Materials Engineer by the faculty of the Purdue University School of Materials Science and Engineering or an affiliated profession as exemplified by leadership and accomplishments. Janet Sater of IDA's Science and Technology Division received the Outstanding Alumni Award at Purdue University’s School of Materials Engineering Student Appreciation Night on May 1, 2014, in West Lafayette, Indiana.
