MacArthur Foundation Awards Scoping Grant to IDA

IDA and CARD Adjunct RSM Bryan Roberts have been awarded a scoping grant by the MacArthur Foundation to evaluate the benefits and costs of government-funded counsel provided to unaccompanied immigrant children in removal proceedings.  This grant builds on IDA’s extensive expertise in immigration issues and border enforcement data to develop an independent unbiased assessment of the counsel programs emerging in a number of agencies.  At the conclusion of this scoping phase, if sufficient data are identified to conduct a rigorous evaluation, it is expected that the MacArthur Foundation will fund another grant to execute the study.
