Position:  Process Coordinator (SAFETY Act)
Description

The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) is a not-for-profit corporation that operates three Federally Funded Research and Development Centers serving the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Homeland Security, Unified Commands and Defense Agencies in addressing important national security issues, particularly those requiring scientific and technical expertise.

IDA is working with the Department of Homeland Security to implement the Supporting Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology Act (SAFETY Act). A self-starting professional is being sought to server as the process coordinator for SAFETY Act applications.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage logistical and administrative issues (not secretarial) especially in relation to troubleshooting and streamlining our Business Process Management software, (Appian Enterprise);
  • Provide status reports to include information on the flow of applications, the processing of applications, outline of upcoming projects/assignments and concerns/questions affecting assignments;
  • Coordinate with out IT subcontractor to gather and outline user requirements;
  • Interact with government, IDA, contractor and other sources as required;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in a quantitative field (e.g., business/finance, science, math).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle concurrently many complex details.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under deadlines, compile and present data on research findings.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of staff, to include government officials.
