Position:  Analyst, Operational Test & Evaluation of Military Aircraft Systems
Description

The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) is a not-for-profit corporation that operates three Federally Funded Research and Development Centers serving the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Homeland Security, Unified Commands and Defense Agencies in addressing important national security issues, particularly those requiring scientific and technical expertise.

IDA has supported the office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation (DOT&E) since soon after Congress established the office in 1983.  Our Operational Evaluation Division (OED) has an immediate career opening for an Analyst supporting DOT&E’s assessment of military aircraft systems.

Primary Responsibilities
  • A challenging career opportunity now exists in our Operational Evaluation Division (OED) at IDA for an individual interested in analyzing the design, execution, and results of operational tests of military aircraft and related systems (including combat support systems and advanced weapons).
  • The position requires strong technical skills as well as the ability to speak and write effectively, think analytically, and work independently.  Some travel will be required.
Requirements
  • Candidates should have a graduate degree in a physical science, engineering, applied mathematics or statistics. PhD's preferred.
  • Recent graduates or candidates with experience in the test and evaluation of military aircraft will be considered.
  • Experience in flight test engineering is also a plus.

IDA offers a competitive salary, an enviable benefits package, and a superior professional environment in a park-like setting. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
