The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) is a not-for-profit corporation that operates three Federally Funded Research and Development Centers serving the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Homeland Security, Unified Commands and Defense Agencies in addressing important national security issues, particularly those requiring scientific and technical expertise.

Challenging career opportunities now exist in our Cost Analysis and Research Division (CARD) at IDA. The incumbent will provide financial analytical support under continuing IDA research tasks relating to Defense test and evaluation resources, with emphasis on science and technology programs conducted in support of the test and evaluation capability needs of future weapon systems.

Specifically, the incumbent will support the management and financial execution of science and technology projects related to Defense test and evaluation through the following tasks:

• Analysis and evaluation of alternative contracting and management strategies
• Program, budget, and financial support, including development of budgetary documentation
• Formulation of recommendations on the selection of research and development projects
• Special studies and analyses to support preparation of management and resource requirements documentation
• Monitoring and analyzing project and program financial execution
  

• Bachelor's Degree in economics, accounting, engineering, engineering management, operations research, or a related discipline. A Master's Degree is desired.
• Professional experience in the following disciplines is highly desirable: military operations research; test and evaluation; financial management, programming, budgeting, cost, and financial performance analysis.
