Position:  Analyst, Large Aircraft Survivability
Description

The Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) is a not-for-profit corporation that operates three Federally Funded Research and Development Centers serving the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Department of Homeland Security, Unified Commands and Defense Agencies in addressing important national security issues, particularly those requiring scientific and technical expertise.

Our Operational Evaluation Division (OED) has an immediate career opening for an Analyst supporting the Department of Defense’s (DOD’s) assessment of the combat survivability of military aircraft.

Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have an advanced technical degree (MS or PhD) and experience in large aircraft flight operations and/or experience in Live Fire testing. The position requires strong technical skills as well as the ability to speak and write effectively, think analytically and work independently. Some travel will be required.
Requirements
  • Candidates should have an advanced technical degree.
  • Prior experience in large aircraft flight operations (commercial or military) and/or Live Fire testing of military aircraft is required.
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
